Your offer is accepted

The agent will now write to both parties to confirm the address of the property, the price, and the terms and conditions. They will also include names and addresses and the solicitors details of you and the seller.

However, please remember that all the offers are subject to contract, which means not binding until contracts are exchanged. There are two potential hurdles:

  1. Chains: If a group of sellers and buyers are reliant on the sale of their respective properties, and one falls through, everyone in the chain is affected.
  2. Gazumping: Your offer has been accepted, and all is going along well, but then someone makes a higher offer. By law, the agent must put all offers  forward unless they have it in writing not to do so.
